Mable May Ackerson, age 98, of Corunna, MI passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Kathy Phillips will officiate and burial will follow at Hawkins Cemetery, Corunna, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday June 5, 2010 from 6-8 PM and Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI.

Mable was born in Brant, Michigan on November 8, 1911, the daughter of Asa and Vera (Clark) Kingsbury. Mable married Don Ackerson in Maumee, Ohio. He passed away on January 15, 1968. She resided most of her life in Corunna, MI. Mable retired from the Ford Battery plant in Owosso. She loved spending the winters in Florida.

She is survived by her daughter Joyce and Dick Batchelor of Owosso, MI, 12 grandchildren; Gary and Bonnie Luft, Roger and Cheryl Luft, Randy and Darla Luft, Janine and Kevin Kingsbury, Kristy and Dan Ferrier, Mike Ackerson, Steve and Tammy Ackerson, Julie Mowinski, Debbie and Jim Fields, Jim and Gayle Batchelor, Mary and Mike Law, Bill and Kelly Batchelor, many great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law Janice Ackerson of Corunna, MI. Mable was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jack Ackerson, daughter Joanne Luft, son-in-law Ron Luft, 2 sisters; Virginia Sutliff & Velma Witt, a brother F.E. Kingsbury and special friend John Vozar.
