Mable Mitchem

Mable Elmyria Mitchem, age 77, of Corunna, MI passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Rodger D. DeVore will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 31, 2009 from 6-8 PM and Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI.

Mable was born in Cohoctah, Michigan on December 7, 1931, the daughter of Wilmer and Lillian (Mitts) Ogg. She resided most of her life in Shiawassee County. Mable married Milton Mitchem on June 12, 1970 in Linden, MI. Mable retired from GM Chevy Plant of Flint. Mable enjoyed visiting the casino and loved to travel in their motor home. She will be remembered as a good cook. Family was a very important part of her life.

She is survived by her husband Milton "Bud" Mitchem of Corunna, MI, daughter Cheryl and Dwight Luick of Lansing, MI, grandson Timothy and Rebecca McCallum of Vernon, MI, 2 great grandchildren; Kallah McCallum & Maya McCallum, sister Leora and Tom Townsend of Linden, MI, sister Clara and George Davis of North Carolina, brother Wilmer and Eleanor Ogg of Dryden, MI, sister Lois and Dennis Dailey of Corunna, MI. Mable is also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 children; Bruce, Sandra and 2 in infancy, 2 brothers; George & Jarvis Ogg and 2 sisters; Shirley Street & Margaret Ogg.
