Malena Mae (Ketchum) Rings, age 86, of Bannister, MI died Monday, March 15, 2010 at Sparrow Health Systems, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 10:00 A.M., Pastor Chuck Emmert will officiate. Burial will take place at the Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 6-8 PM. and on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 2-8 with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel.

Malena was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 7, 1924, the daughter Walter and Lorena (Smith) Mabie. She resided most of her life in the Bannister & St. Johns area. Malena was a homemaker and enjoyed going to garage & yard sales, going to dollar stores and watching General Hospital. She was a very good seamstress. She was a member of Duplain Church of Christ, St. Johns, MI.

Survivors include her 3 daughters; Nancy Kingery of Ellsworth, MI, Madia Brown of Ovid, MI, Debbie Carpenter of Bannister, MI, 2 sons; Norman R. Ketchum of Bannister, MI, Danny and Michelle Ketchum of Mancelona, MI, 27 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, and 21 great great grandchildren.

Malena was predeceased by her parents, 2 husbands; Isacc Norman Ketchum & Ronald Rings, 1 brother, Winford Maibe, 1 great granddaughter, Sadie and a son in law Ronny Carpenter.
