Mallory Hockstra

Mallory Lee Hockstra, age 26, of Mount Pleasant ; passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 13, 2021 .

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis , Michigan .  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis , Michigan .  Visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mallory was born June 5, 1995 in Mount Pleasant , the daughter of James R. and Marci (Berthume) Gibson. She was a beautiful, kind hearted, loving soul and devoted mother. She had a love of animals, music, dancing, and John Travolta was the man of her dreams. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to be outdoors. She was rarely seen without a smile on her face. Mallory graduated from Saint Louis High School in 2013. Mallory was employed at Delfield for the past 8 years and enjoyed her co-workers deeply.

Mallory loved spending time with family, friends, and especially her son Decklan, he was the love of her life. She never met a person who didn't immediately become her friend!

Mallory is survived by her son Decklan James Hockstra, father James (Tina Arntz) Gibson of Perrinton, MI; mother Marci (Scott) Peterson of St. Louis, MI; her siblings: Aftan (Justin) Lalk, Aleeya (Jacob Viavada) Bradley, Ean (Haylee Davis) Bradley, and Logan (Michelle England) Piggott; niece Rowan Lalk, her maternal grandparents Joseph and Nattalie Berthume of St. Louis, MI; paternal grandparents Ronald and Brenda Gibson of Harrison, MI; paternal great-grandmother Anna Foster of St. Louis, MI;. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
