Mandy Werner

Mandy Marie Werner, age 42, of Portland, MI, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Spectrum Health Systems- Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids, MI.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI, at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, January 14, 2022, with Rev. Fr. Dennis Howard presiding.  Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI.  A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mandy was born in Carson City, Michigan on March 7, 1979, the daughter of Dale and Barbara (Geller) Thelen.  Mandy married James B. Werner, II on August 27, 2005, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI.

Mandy loved camping and fishing in Northern Michigan.  She also enjoyed cake decorating and gardening.  Mandy had a giving spirit and was always putting others before herself.  Even during her illness she was always thinking about others and what she could do for them.  Her children, nieces, and nephews were so special to her and she cherished time with her family.  She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Fowler Conservation Club.

She is survived by her husband James Werner II of Portland, MI; her children: Kenyon and Abby Werner of Lakeview, OH; Kaden Werner, and twin daughters: Olivia & Harper Werner all of Portland, MI; parents Dale and Barb Thelen of Fowler, MI; siblings: Scott Thelen of Fowler, MI; Chris Thelen of Fowler, MI; Dean and Shelby Thelen of Fowler, MI; Kammy Smith of Kalkaska, MI; father and mother-in-law James and Darlene Werner of Portland, MI; sisters-in-law: Candi and Pat Ottgen of Portland, MI; and Amanda and Tim Grove of Vermontville, MI. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Alvin and Loretta Thelen and Roman and Geraldine Geller, Fred and Virginia Werner, Ed and Marge Blundy, her uncle Kenny Thelen, and her aunt Sandy Thelen
