Marcelle B. Crumbaugh age 88 of St. Louis, Michigan died Friday April 23, 2004 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in St. Louis, Michigan on Monday April 26, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Lillian French will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be Sunday April 25, 2004 from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
Marcelle was born on August 24, 1915 in Pleasant Valley, Michigan the oldest child of Claude & Tracy ( Schultheiss ) Oswald. She graduated from St. Louis High School in 1933 and then attended County Normal in Midland, Michigan. She married Robert W. Crumbaugh in The United Methodist Church Parsonage in St. Louis on June 14, 1936. Robert passed away on January 27, 1997. In early years, Marcelle was a rural school teacher in Pleasant Valley. She was a homemaker of the first degree and also found time to be a contributing member through the years of Home Extension, Get Together Club of Bethany Twp., Dorcus Circle, Methodist Womena�(TM)s Society, and the Order of Eastern Star. She was employed at the Gratiot County Clerks office, and later in the Superintendents Office of St. Louis High School. Marcelle and Bob enjoyed true friendship with so many good people and were grateful for the companionship found in their pinochle group. She & Bob were also members of the Cattle Feeders Association, and later enjoyed winters spent in Lakeland, FL. After Boba�(TM)s death in 1997, Marcelle continued to make her home on the family farm until her move to Masonic Pathways in the fall of 2002 where she continued an active social life until her recent illness. She especially loved participating in the reading program for second graders.
Marcelle is survived by her children Rosemary & Vern Aultman of Pinedale, WY, Rex & Kathleen Crumbaugh of Breckenridge, MI, David & Debbie Crumbaugh of Rainbow Lake, MI, 2 sisters, Lillian & Bud Richardson of Midland, MI, Joann & Harvey Farrand of Saginaw, MI, Sister-in-law Naomi Oswald of Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Besides her husband Bob, Marcelle is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
Memorial may be made to United Methodist Church in St. Louis, MI, Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Gratiot County of the charity of the donora�(TM)s choice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
