Marcia Jean Schmitz

     Marcia Jean Schmitz, age 89, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025.
     A Private Family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler with Father John Whitlock presiding. Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI.
     Marcia was born in St. Johns, MI on October 15, 1935, the daughter of Joseph B. and Hazel M. (Peck) Plumstead. She graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School with the Class of 1954. On April 12, 1958, Marcia married Hilary John Schmitz at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns. They were married for sixty-five years prior to him passing away on November 5, 2023.
     Marcia was a devoted and selfless mother, grandmother and wife who poured her heart into creating a warm and loving home. She approached life with kindness and gentleness, always caring for others with grace. She possessed a nurturing spirit and unwavering love for her family. Marcia was a lifetime member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
     She is survived by her son Darryl and Rosie Schmitz; daughter Julie and Steve Erbe; daughter Diane and Brian Simon; daughter Denice and Jim Schultheiss; daughter Gail and Steve Lane; 15 grandchildren: Hilary, Christopher, Greg (Chelsea), Michael (Brittney), Scott (Holly), Jennifer, Tony, and Elizabeth, Eric (Elizabeth), Kurt (Michelle), Kara (Altin), Orianna (Thibaud), Zoe, Hannah, and Quinn; 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hilary, twin grandsons: Alex and Aaron Fedewa, and her sister Linda Hufnagel.
