Margaret Beach

Margaret Elaine Beach age 74 of Vestaburg, Michigan died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at her home.

A Celebration of her life will be held at Ferris Church of Christ Vestaburg, Michigan on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 11:00 AM. J. D. Saunders will officiate.

Margaret was born in Ferris Township, Michigan on November 18, 1933 the daughter of Israel and Merna ( Woodard ) Switzer. She was a life long resident of Vestaburg, MI and graduated from Vestaburg High School with the class of 1952. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in 1971 from CMU. Margaret married Allen Beach on August 13, 1955 at Ferris Church of Christ, Vestaburg, MI. Margaret retired in 1991 from the State of Michigan Corrections Department where she was the first woman in Michigan to teach in the men's correctional facility. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, and camping. Margaret loved to read, do crosswords and she was a wonderful baker, making bread and cookies. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was also a Red Hatter.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Allen Beach of Vestaburg, MI, 4 children; Stewart & Marlene Beach of Bridgeman, MI, Teresa & Lanny Graham of Edmore, MI, Aaron & JoAnn Beach of Alma, MI, Onalee & Mike Barnett of Bunker Hill, MI, 7 grandchildren; Daniel & Tracy Graham, Stephanie Beach, Jason Graham, Paula Beach, Patrick Beach, Allen Beach, Elizabeth Beach, brother Gene & June Switzer of Vestaburg, MI, sister Betty & Jerry Lingafelter of Missouri, brother Bill Switzer of St. Louis, MI, and sister Sue & Bob Lindsey of Alma, MI. She is predeceased by her parents, and sister Joann Wilson.

Memorials may be made to Mid Michigan Home Care and Hospice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
