Margaret L. Hundley, age 89, formerly of St. Louis, MI passed away peacefully Monday, May 28, 2012 at her home in Flint, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Phil Maxwell officiating. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be on Saturday from 9:30 until the time of service at 11:00 at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery Ithaca, MI.

Margaret was born in St. Louis, MI on August 13, 1922, the daughter of James and Lucille (Bancroft) Beery. She was a graduate of St. Louis High School, was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Louis and resided most of her life in Alma, St. Louis and later years in Port Charlotte, FL, where she was active in the First Baptist Church, North Port, FL. Margaret married O.D. Hundley on January 24, 1942 in St. Louis, MI. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2003.

She was active in organizing the first day center and workshop for mentally handicapped children in Gratiot County. Additionally, she worked diligently to help secure alternate housing and summer camp facilities for those children. Margaret worked with handicapped children for many years before retiring from the Gratiot Intermediate School District.

She is survived by her sons; Thomas & Karen Hundley of Flint, MI, Rev. James & Pamela Hundley of Port Crane, NY, and Rodney Hundley of Flint, MI, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, and brother Franklin & Phyllis Beery of Port Charlotte, FL. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson JohnMark Hundley, sister Mabel Kimler and brother Hal Beery.
