Margaret McCormick

Margaret Marie McCormick, 98, of Alma, MI, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.

In following her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Family Gathering will take place at a later date. Margaret will be buried at Chapel Garden Cemetery, Elwell, MI.

Margaret was born in Tipton, IN on February 15, 1923, the daughter of George and Ruby (Gasho) Thomas.  She married Curlin F. McCormick on September 27, 1940. Curlin preceded her in death on April 20, 1990 after nearly 50 years of marriage.

Margaret graduated from St. Louis High School with her son Robert. Margaret worked for Alma College for 25 years as a housekeeper.

Margaret spent most weekends out in the garden taking care of her flower beds. Halloween was a particular favorite time of the year. She loved spending time with her family. Margaret was a member of the East Minster Presbyterian Church, Alma, MI.

She is survived by 6 children: Robert, Ronald, Harlan, Douglas, William and Trudy; 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and her sister Wilda Rice. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: Terry and Kevin; and her other siblings.
