Margaret (Denovich) Osborn was born August 14, 1923 in Ashley, Michigan to Mary and George Denovich. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Andy, George, Nick, Michael, Fred, Mary, Anna, Kay, Verna and Helen, her special friend, Jack Stambersky, and great grandson Kameron Evans. She attended Ashley Community Schools and graduated in 1940. Margaret married Ivan Lawrence Osborn in 1942 and together operated Osborn's Market in Ashley for a number of years, with Margaret keeping the books in addition to waiting on customers and stocking shelves. Margaret also worked at the Nelson Elevator in Ashley and Nixon's Market in Bannister, Michigan.
Margaret was affectionately referred to as "Grandma Maggie" or "Maggie Mae" to those who knew her. She always had a smile on her face and welcomed family and friends into her home. She enjoyed her dancing, flowers, bird watching, Tiger baseball, scratch-off lottery tickets, walking and attending the athletic events at the Ashley Community; especially to watch her two granddaughters, Shelby and Cody. She also hosted many pre game dinners for the girls' teams and proudly wore her "Grandma Bear" sweatshirt to show support for the Ashley Bears. Maggie Mae will be remembered for her cheerful upbeat attitude even during her battle with Alzheimer's Disease and how her face would light up when her grandchildren or any young children visited her.
Margaret is survived by her five children; Brian (Maria) Osborn, Cheryl (Dale) Fabry, Nadine (Glen) George, Cara (Roger) Evans and David (Mary) Osborn, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family would especially like to thank the staff of the Ashley Care Center for the compassionate care they provided during her time there.
