Margaret Josephine Sipka age 88 of Lansing, Michigan died Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, Michigan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, 2007 from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Rosary will be prayed on Friday at 7:00 P.M.
Margaret was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on January 27, 1919 the daughter of Henry and Anna ( Bistricky ) Tomasik. Margaret married Paul F. Sipka on May 6, 1939 at St. Cyril' Catholic Church, Bannister, MI. He died in 1997. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family, baking, preserving, needlework, reading, and flowers. Margaret was a charter member of St. Theres Catholic Church and transferred her membership to St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI. and she was a member of the National Slovak Society for more than 50 years.
She is survived by 1 son George Sipka of DeWitt, MI, 1 daughter Mary Anne & Carl Rohwetter of St. Charles, MI, 2 grandsons, James & Kathy Rohwetter of St. Charles, MI, John Rohwetter of St. Charles, MI, 1 great granddaughter Shelby Rohwetter of St. Charles, MI, 1 sister: Ellen Tomasek of Owosso, MI, sister-in-law Anna Tomasik of Ovid, MI, and many nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, 1 brother Joseph, and 1 sister Mary.
