Margarette M. Rodriquez, age 82, of Ovid, MI passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Margarette was born in Ashley, Michigan on June 19, 1931, the daughter of Eugene and Nellie (Blount) Lover. She married Manuel Rodriguez on April 17, 1948 in North Star, MI; he preceded her in death February 9, 1994. Margarette was a lifelong resident of the Ovid-Elsie area. She loved flower gardening, was an excellent seamstress, and was a handywoman who loved to tinker. She loved to visit with friends and family.
She is survived by 3 daughters; Lucy and Charles Hazard of Ovid, MI, Gloria and Buddy Kostuk of Ashley, MI, Rachel Harrelson of Wyoming, MI, 5 grandchildren; Jennifer and Matt Gore of Byron Center, MI, Kelly and Chuck Vince of St. Johns, MI, Kerry and Andrea Holmes of Grayling, MI, Dena and Randy Harris of Ashley, MI, Sarah Hazard and Lynn Hofacker of Bannister, MI, 8 great grandchildren; Dustin, Ben, Kamren, Manuella, Charlize, Makynna, Wyatt, and Olivia, sister Betty Lover of Bannister, MI, and 2 brothers; Raymond Lover of Bannister, MI, and Charles Lover of Sturgis, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Linda Holmes, 2 sons in law; Gary Holmes, and Fred Harrelson, 4 brothers; Richard, Art, Eugene, and Franklin, and 1 sister Barbara.
