Margie Kostal

Margie Jean (Bosley) Kostal, age 93, of Haslett, MI (formally of Newark Township, Ithaca, MI) died Friday, April 13, 2018 at her home at the Brookdale Assisted Living, Haslett, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at the Smith Family Funeral Home, 1333 E Center Street, Ithaca, MI on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 2:00 P.M., with Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Burial will be held at Ithaca Cemetery.

Margie was born in Ithaca, MI, on November 15, 1924 the daughter of Howard and Thelma (Crooks) Bosley. She resided most of her life in the Ithaca area and attended Ithaca High School and the Lansing Business College. Margie married Frank Kostal on February 24, 1945 at the Presbyterian Church in Ithaca. Prior to her marriage she worked for the Michigan State Police in Lansing. She avidly listened to music, loved Spartan sports, and enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Margie was a member of the Gratiot County Farm Bureau, Child Study Club, and the Sarah Guild at the United Methodist Church, in Ithaca.

She is survived by her three daughters: Andrea (Jack) Bulock of Holt, MI; Jayne (Tom) Osborn of Mason, MI; and Lauren (John) Anderson of Kirkland, WA; daughter-in-law Sue Kostal of Davenport, WA; grandchildren: Claire Anderson of New York City, NY; Leigha (Mark) Grimaldi of Bellevue, WA; Lisa Simms of Warren, MI; Jennifer (Clint) Gallon of  Phoenix, AZ; John Kostal of Austin, TX; Matthew Kostal of Davenport, WA; and brother Ted (Judy) Bosley of Ithaca, MI. Margie was preceded in death by her husband Frank, and son Douglas.
