Marian Grandy

Marian Arlene Grandy, age 81, of Ithaca, Michigan entered into rest on Friday, June 5, 2009 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Twin Cities Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Alma on M-46 across from Big Boy Restaurant on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Ken Micheff will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Emerson Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday June 8, 2009 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel, Ithaca, MI.

Marian was born in Ithaca, MI on January 4, 1928, the daughter of Alvin Clark and Mayme (Sells). Marian married Maynard Grandy on May 3, 1946 in Alma, MI. She resided most of her life in Gratiot County and was a member of Twin Cities Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Alma, MI. Marian loved all animals; raising fox, rabbits, fawns, raccoons, squirrels, skunks, lambs, mallards & birds including a peacock. She liked to embroider and sew clothes for her family and dolls. Family was a very important part of Marian's life, her grandchildren & great-grandchildren brought her much joy.

She is survived by her husband Maynard Grandy of Ithaca, MI, 3 daughters; Bonnie and Dave Field of Naples, FL, Mickey and Galen Miller of Ithaca, MI, Sue and Dave Engel of Atlanta, MI, 7 grandchildren; Alex, Marc, Victoria, Macie, Melanie, Leslie & Sarah, 7 great grandchildren; Elise, Aleia, Jacob, Olivia, Michael, Ella & Lucas, and sister Jean Shaw of Alma, MI. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her son Gary Grandy, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
