Marie Stone

Marie Fedelia Stone, age 83, of St. Louis, Michigan died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Church of Christ in St. Louis, Michigan on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11:00 A.M., with Mr. Keith Wise officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Garden Cemetery, Elwell, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel, St. Louis, MI.

Marie was born in St. Louis, Michigan on September 25, 1927, the daughter of Seth R. and Audie (Pruitt) Wright. She resided all of her life in St. Louis, Michigan and graduated from St. Louis High School. In 1945 she married Dale W. Clark, in 1974 she married Alfred Schaeffer he predeceased her. On April 10, 1999 she married Walter Stone who survives her.

Marie had worked for Commercial Bank, Whitman Industries, and at the Baptist Children's Home, caring for the children there. She enjoyed doing her genealogy, crocheting and art projects. She was a woman who loved everyone. She was a member of Church of Christ in St. Louis, Michigan.

She is survived by her husband Walter Stone of St. Louis, MI, 4 daughters; Carmen and Fred Patterson of Riverdale, MI, Darci and Maynard Travis of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Barbara and John Conway of Olive Hill, KY, Cheryl and Dale Baumgras of Laingsburg, MI, 4 sons; Ron and Dawn Clark of St. Louis, MI, Nick and Alida Stone of Alma, MI, Todd and Jan Stone of Keani, AK, Richard and Paula Clark of Strafford, MO, 26 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.
