Marilyn Kaye (Moore) Bernath

   Marilyn Kaye Bernath, age 77, of Elsie, MI, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Divine Life Assisted Living of Haslett West, Haslett, MI.

     A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes -  Elsie, MI at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, with Mr. Thomas J. Bradley officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI

     Marilyn was born in Ovid, Michigan on September 9, 1945, the daughter of John Wesley and Leila Belle (Mead) Moore. She graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School, St. Johns, with the class of 1963.     On July 31, 1965, Marilyn married John Martin Bernath at St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Bannister, Michigan.  They were blessed with fifty-two years of marriage prior to his passing on December 3, 2017.

     Marilyn loved garage sales. Her dogs were her constant companions and went everywhere with her. She enjoyed eating out and collecting Home Interiors items and dolls. Marilyn had a sweet tooth and always had a dish of candy to share.

     She is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Jerry) Kimball of Eagle, MI; son Bruce (Deb) Bernath of Nashville, MI; four grandchildren: Melanie (Luke) Hemingway, Stephanie (Josh) Relyea, Gabrielle Bernath, and Danielle Bernath; ten great-grandchildren: Ethan, Jacob, Carter, Owen, Joy, Tiffany, Christian, Roman, Gideon, and Natalie; sister-in-law Helen Slowinski, brothers-in-law: Martin Bernath, and Mike Rademacher; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John, and sister Janice Rademacher.
