Marilyn Lucile Gove, age 82, of Wakefield, Rhode Island, died Saturday, January 23, 2010.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel, from 2-6 P.M. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan.

Marilyn was born in Elsie, Michigan on April 13, 1927, the daughter of Frank V. and Mary L. (Baese) Doten. She was married to Gerald "Barney" Butler who predeceased her in 1967. In 1989 she married Kenneth E. Gove in Rhode Island who survives her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She held many positions over the years: in Michigan - C.N.A., doctor's office receptionist, bookkeeper for DeWitt's Lumber Yard: in Rhode Island - stock clerk for Ames Department Store. Her hobbies consisted of quilting, reading, rose gardening, baking, fishing, snowmobiling, and watching Michigan football.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth, 3 sons; Gerald Butler, Shepherd, MI, Terry and Fran Butler of Williamsburg, MI, and Jerry and Janice Butler, White Lake, Michigan, 1 sister Carolyn & Roger Feeman of St. Johns, MI, step-son Eric Gove, stepdaughters; Sandra & Ken Cuddie, Davenport, FL and Margaret & Tom Butler-Maine, Kate Gove, Melinda Soderberg, Sarah Rockwell, and Bessie Shaw, 15 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Daryl Butler and brother Frank Doten.
