Marilyn June "Granny" Lohrer, age 84, of Ithaca, MI passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor George Showers and Pastor Doug Strait officiating. Burial will take place at Union Home Cemetery, St. Johns, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 13, 2015 from 11 A.M.-2 P.M. and 4-8 P.M. and on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 11 A.M.-1 P.M., prior to the service at the funeral home.

Marilyn was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on September 27, 1931, the daughter of Charles Vernon and Marian (Peters) Fisk. Marilyn graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1949. She resided most of her life in Mid-Michigan. On January 1, 1972 she married Melvin Lohrer in Seville Township, Michigan; Melvin preceded her in death on December 12, 2009.

Marilyn's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She maintained a card ministry and enjoyed quilting. Her quilts were featured at the Michigan State Fair where they earned blue ribbons. Marilyn also wrote children's stories. She had a strong faith in God and was the Jabez Prayer in action. Marilyn will be remembered for her giving and kind heart to all people. She was a member of Ithaca Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by her daughter Marcia Miller of Alma, MI, 5 sons; Stephen Miller of Texas, Michael Miller of Elwell, MI, Ronald Miller of Anderson, IN, Matthew Miller of Howell, MI, Henry and Sara Miller of Sumner, MI, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, brother Darrell and Janette Fisk of Sturgis, MI, and sister in law Mary Fisk of Vestaburg, MI. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin Lohrer, 2 daughters; Melody Conklin and Barbara Oliva, son James Edward Miller, and brother Ronald Fisk.
