Marilyn Ann McClintic, of St. Louis, Michigan, passed away peacefully in her home, Monday, August 3, 2015. She was born on April 19, 1933, in Bay City, Michigan to John Henry and Emma Alice Syring.
After graduating from Central Michigan University in 1955 with a teaching degree, Marilyn settled in St. Louis where she raised her family. She taught her first year of school in Shepherd, MI, two years at St. Louis High School, and the remaining 27 years at Breckenridge High School. She passed along her love for the English language and literature to many students, was the newspaper and yearbook advisor, as well as the Pom-Pom advisor. Marilyn was a favorite among her students, made evident by the many who have kept in touch throughout their lives. After retiring from teaching in 1989 she became a life insurance agent with CSA Fraternal Life, earning many top honors.
Marilyn was a life long learner and lover of life. She enjoyed many hobbies, including knitting and crocheting, gardening, cooking, crossword puzzles, reading. She loved animals, especially dogs. She was a very charitable person and philanthropist, with special interest in the American Indians and the Wounded Warriors. Marilyn was a member of the Episcopal Church and was very active for years in the altar guild society and the choir. She was an active member of the CSA Society of America, local lodge #408 in St. Louis, where she devoted many hours as a trustee, activities chair, and recording secretary.
Surviving Marilyn are four children; Thomas (Lezlie) Mayville of Nevada, David Mayville of St. Louis, Scott (Krittika) McClintic of Nevada, and Lynne (Robert) Wyre of Florida, five grandchildren; Jeramiah (Jessica) Mayville, Cameron Mayville, Elizabeth Wyre, Andrew Wyre, and Daniel Wyre, a brother J. Valendar (Marnie) Syring, and her nieces and nephews and their children. Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother John Henry Syring, first husband Thomas R. Mayville, parents Henry and Emma Syring, son Michael Mayville, and second husband Jerald R. McClintic.

Honoring Marilyn's wishes, cremation took place.
