Marilyn West

Marilyn L. West of Lansing, MI died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the age of 87. Born January 8, 1927 to Harold and Mary E. (Hess) Calcott, Marilyn worked as a Secretary for the State of Michigan until her retirement.

Surviving are her children Christopher (Linda) West of New Port Richey, FL, Kevin B. (Christine) West of Lansing, Shawn West of Tarpon Springs, FL, Roderick (Patricia) West of Traverse City, Rory (Nancy) West of Royal Oak, Megan (Jack) Karpan of Palm Coast, FL, Amy West of Lansing; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Doris Lambert, Lois Calcott; brother, John (Diana) Calcott; and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert West, and infant son, Andrew.

As Alzheimer's stripped away all of her memories during the past few years it also stripped away all of life's hurts and rejections. What was left was a simple love and acceptance of those around her, without any restraints. Thanks Mom, we will always hold you in our hearts. Enter now into the Father's rest.

A Memorial Service will be held, 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Sunfield United Methodist Church, 227 Logan St, Sunfield, MI.
