Marion Smith

Marion D. Smith, age 71, of St. Louis, MI passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Richard Boyce will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 2-8 PM with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.

Marion was born in Midland, Michigan on April 23, 1940, the daughter of Charles and Marion (Hammond) Shook. Marion resided most of her life in St. Louis and was a graduate of St. Louis High School

Marion married Malcolm Smith on June 20, 1957 in Alma. He passed away on December 31, 2002.

Marion enjoyed her pets, quilting and browsing in stores. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She had worked as a Nurse's Aide at Schnepp Health Care Center of St. Louis and the Masonic Home of Alma until retiring to care for her husband.

She is survived by her daughter Nanette and Doug Watson of Ithaca, MI; 2 sons-in-law Wilson Seeley of Alma, MI, John Federspiel of Riverdale, MI; 5 grandchildren Diana Hadley, Shane Seeley, Sgt. Alfred Morado III, Eric Morado & Steveie Watson; several great-grandchildren;sister Jeri Shook of St. Louis, MI; sister Linda Fisher of Bear Lake, MI; brother Robert and Sally Shook of St. Louis, MI; sister Carmon and Charles Fisher of Wheeler, MI; brother-in-law Kenneth and Jacalyn Smith of Alma, MI.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 daughters Linnette Seeley & Kimberly Fortinberry also a brother Wm. Edward Shook.
