Marion K Welsh
Died March 29, 2008 at the age of 99. Born in Lexington, MI to Harold and Laura Kitchen, Marion was an independent spirit from a young age. As a teenager she enjoyed riding her brothers' motorcycle among other high school activities. Upon graduation she moved to Detroit to pursue happiness and a career. She loved to dance, especially the Charleston. She was a secretary in the medical field when she met Harrison E. Welsh, a successful educator in Dearborn. They were married and lived happily in Dearborn Hts. until Harry's death in 1970. She and Harry jumped in near the beginning of the import car era as she drove a 1954 VW Bug and he a Karman Ghia. Marion was an avid Redwing fan, following Gordie Howe's career even after his retirement. With a sharp mind right up to the end she enjoyed word search games, spelling contests and pointing out errors in print such as the statement "There is a new face in the seat of the Marlette patrol car this week". Predeceased by her parents, husband, son and step-son she will be missed by all who survive her. Graveside services were held at the Kingston Cemetery on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.
