Marjorie DeVoe

Marjorie M. DeVoe age 89 of Lennon and Durand, Michigan died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Durand Senior Care and Rehab Center, Durand.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Deweerd Smith will officiate with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2007 from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M.

Marjorie was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 29, 1918 the daughter of Chester and Florence ( Confer ) Conklin. She resided most of her life in Shiawassee County and attended Owosso schools. Marjorie married Keith DeVoe on October 27, 1935 in Owosso, Michigan. He died on February 22, 2001. She was a homemaker. Marjorie took care of her grandchildren as they grew up. Family was very important to her. Marjorie was a member of Westland Church in Lennon, MI and a former member of the Brown St. Wesleyan Church in Flint, MI. She was also a past Girl Scout Leader.

She is survived by her sons; Lloyd DeVoe of Corunna, MI, Jim DeVoe of Linden, MI, daughter Sharon & Jon Alden of Bancroft, MI, grandchildren; Margie, Sheryl, Ryan, Cheri, Kevin, & Jamie , 3 great grandchildren, 1 brother Bernard & Nona Conklin of Traverse City, MI. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, 2 brothers Ronald and Norman and 1 sister Emma.

Memorials may be made to Durand Senior Care and Rehab Center or the Shiawassee County Humane Society. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI.
