Marjorie Lucille Hoffman, age 90, of Midland, MI passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at MidMichigan Stratford Village, Midland, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, St. Louis, MI on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Terri Bentley officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Marjorie was born in Hastings, Michigan on April 30, 1925, the daughter of Milton Coan and Frances Lucille (Morehouse) Townsend. She married Paul N. Hoffman on August 28, 1943 in St. Louis, MI.

Marge was an LPN with focus on home delivery and infant care. She loved flower gardening, bird watching, crafts, baking, polka music and The Lawrence Welk Show. Marge enjoyed time spent at the family cabin at Higgins Lake. She especially loved spending time with her family. Marge was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

She is survived by her children; David and Karen Hoffman, Milton and Lori Hoffman, Stephanie McCormick, Paula Miller, Marcia and Bill McCormick, Mary and Michael Federspiel, Ruth and Tom Graham, Mark Hoffman,17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, brothers; Theodore and Helen Townsend, George and Lois Townsend and brother in law Stanley and Frances Nesen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Brandi Hoffman, and sister Jane (James) Keene.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either the Dow Gardens (1018 West Main Street, Midland, MI 49640) to support children's activities associated with the Butterfly House or Delta College Public Television (1961 Delta Road, University Center, MI 48710) to help underwrite broadcasts of the Lawrence Welk Show.  Online condolences can be sent to www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, Michigan.
