Marjorie Patterson

Majorie D. Patterson of St. Johns (formerly of Perrinton) died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the age of 93. Born in Newfoundland, Canada on October 7, 1915 to Joseph and Flora (Deminey) Butler and became a U.S. Citizen in January of 1942. Marjorie was a member of the Congregational Church in Maple Rapids, the AMICA Club and Treasurer for many years for the Women's Fellowship. In 1935 she moved to Detroit and to Rainbow Lake in 1969. Marjorie was employed by General Motors as a statistical typist. She married Maurice Patterson in Detroit on August 18, 1950 and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1978. Marjorie loved her church and to play any kind of card game, knitting and her pets.

Marjorie is survived by her step daughter, Lillian (Douglas) Berdeaux, three grandsons and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her four sisters, Gladys, Beatrice, Grace and Myra and by five brothers, Harold, Chesley G., Willis, Leonard and Chesley R.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Payne Cemetery in Fulton Township. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed with memorial contributions to Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor. The family is being served Osgood Funeral Homes.
