Martha Brabon

Martha L. Brabon, age 103, of Alma, MI, formerly of Elsie passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Masonic Pathways with her family by her side.

A cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. She will be buried at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan beside her first husband Walter Sigafoose.

Martha was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 10, 1918, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Pawlowski) Kalinowski.  On November 12, 1942, Martha married Walter Sigafoose.  He preceded her in death in 1968. She later married Keith Brabon who also preceded her in death.

Martha was a lifelong homemaker.  She was a waitress in Elsie.  She greatly enjoyed playing Bingo and Rummy.  Martha was an avid walker and daily walked around the Lansing Mall for many years.  She dearly loved her family, but especially loved her great nieces and nephew.

Martha is survived by her sister Wanda (Frank) Bogart of Robertsdale, AL; niece Doreen (Marvin) Fox of Ithaca, MI; great-niece Erin (Corey) Smith of Ithaca, MI; great-niece Jessica (Damian) Mitchell of Hubbardston, MI; nephew Jack (Darlene) Allen of Sumner, MI; and nephew Jerry (Evelyn) Allen of Sumner, MI.  Martha was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Walter Sigafoose, second husband Keith Brabon, siblings: Kate, Frances, Andy, Edward, and Barb; nieces: Rose and Judy.

While Your shades of night are drawn, hold me in Your loving presence.  I now place myself and all that pertains to me and my world in your care and keeping, trusting You utterly, leaving You the vigil while I sleep in heavenly peace.
