Martha Dickerson

Martha "Marty" M. Dickerson age 60 of Alma, Michigan died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Gratiot Medical Center Alma, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 11:00 AM. There will be no visitation.

Martha was born in Midland, MI on October 21, 1946 the daughter of John Wesley and Betty Jean ( Welch ) Hadley. She graduated from St. Louis High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in 1991 from CMU. She was also an LPN earning her licese from Mid Michigan Community College in the late 1970's. Martha married Chester Dickerson on December 15, 1995 in Carson City, MI. She was currently employed by Gratiot County Community Mental Health as a crisis case worker. She also worked as a guardian through Gratiot County. In the past she worked as an LPN at Gratiot Community Hospital until 1984. Before working at Community Mental Health, she was the head social worker at Wilcox Nursing Home. She loved to shop and spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Chester Dickerson of Jackson, MI, son Mike & Kim Hale of Port St. Lucie, FL, daughter Jennifer & Ralph "Dude" Shaw of St. Louis, MI, 4 grandchildren; Brandon, Wesley, Darby, & Will, 4 sisters Joyce Denman of Alma, MI, Connie Hadley of Saginaw, MI, Jean & Dave Stearns of Gaylord, MI, Gayla & Roy Moore of Gladwin, MI, and 1 brother Roger & Barb Hadley of Ithaca, MI. She is predeceased by her parents, and 7 brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made to Diabetes Foundation. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
