Martha Ries

Martha Ries age 95 of St. Louis, Michigan died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Gratiot Community Hospital, Alma, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, Michigan. Pastor Lillian French will officiate.
Visitation will be Sunday 6-8 P.M. and Monday 2-8 P.M. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star service on Monday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Martha was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on September 10, 1909 the daughter of Arthur & DeEtta ( Schaffer ) Peacock. She resided most of her life in the St. Louis area, and she attended St. Louis Schools.
On September 23, 1929 she married Wilbur ( Bill ) Ries in Louis, Michigan, Bill died January 4, 1993. She was a homemaker and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of St. Louis and a Life Member of the Eastern Star in Breckenridge, Michigan.
Survivors include a son, Donald & Billie Jean Ries of Smyrna, Tennessee, a daughter, Carolyn Clark of Colorado Springs, Colorado, her grandchildren, Donna Jean (David ) Bucher, Judy (Don ) Hailey, Carmin (Troy) Arnold, Ronda ( Larry ) Snow, Phillip (Cyndi ) Knapp,
Sheila ( Jesse ) Serna, great grandchildren, Martha ( Jose ) Rodriguez, Thomas Bucher, Sara Bucher, Ryan Hailey, Evan Hailey, Kevin Knapp, Julie Knapp, Karen Moreno and her great great grandchildren,
Kali & Jose.
Three brothers, Maynard ( Bertha ) Peacock, Merle Peacock, Merton ( Virginia ) Peacock.
Martha was predeceased by her parents, husband, 1 daughter, 3 sisters, & 4 brothers.

St. Louis, Michigan.
