Martha Schulz

Martha Rae Schulz, age 91, of Bannister, Michigan died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie MI, on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Joel Thomford officiating. Burial will follow at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Martha was born in Chapin Township, Michigan on May 6, 1923, the daughter of James Grant and Ethel M. (Sanford) Bishop. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1942. On June 24, 1944 Martha married Paul Schulz in Fenmore, Michigan. Martha was a homemaker and was very artistic; she enjoyed painting, sewing and doing crafts. She was a 4H Leader for many years in Saginaw County. Martha was a member of Zion Lutheran Church Chesaning, Michigan.

She is survived by her husband Paul, 2 daughters; Martha Schulz, Laurel and Howard Andersen, 3 sons; Ted and Deb Schulz, Neil and Annette Schulz, and Kris Schulz, 10 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters in law; Mable Geegauff, Bernice Dykes, and Peggy Lowery. She was predeceased by her parents, and 4 sisters.
