Martha Small

Martha Jean Small, age 90, of Sebring, Florida formerly of Ithaca, Michigan died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in Sebring, Florida.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Fred Lab officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Alma, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Martha was born in Ithaca, Michigan on July 29, 1923, the daughter of Frank W. and Elzina (Sanders) Conklin. She graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1941. Martha married Delmer Beebe in 1941; he died in 1963. In 1975 she married Arden Small; and he died in 2003. Martha was a homemaker and had retired from the Gratiot County Intermediate School District. Martha resided most of her life in Gratiot County, Michigan and was a member of the Alma VFW Auxiliary, Farm Bureau, and was a 4-H leader for 25 years. She also worked on the Gratiot County Fair for Youth for many years. Martha attended Highland Christian Church Sebring, FL.

She is survived by daughter Lynda and Jerry Collison of Lake Odessa, MI, son Michael and Joanne Beebe of Howell, MI, daughter Rebecca and Larry McGilbra of Tulsa, OK, step-daughters; Debra and James Tackett of Spring Lake, MI, Rene' McBride of St. Clair MI, step-daughter in law Kathy and Tom Girrbach of Hastings, MI, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, daughter and son in law Deborah & Jake Walker, 1 grandson Sean Beebe, step-son Roy Small, sister Murlene Burdick, and brother Romaine Conklin.
