Martin Podolan, age 92 of New Haven Township, Michigan passed away Friday April 2, 2004 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan
Funeral services will be held Monday April 5, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel. Rev. John Walworth will officiate with burial at West Haven Township Cemetery, New Haven Township, Michigan. Visitation will be Saturday 5-8 P.M. and Sunday 2-8 P.M. with family present at 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Martin was born on July 20, 1911 in Chesaning, Michigan, the son of Joseph & Rosalie Podolan. On May 15, 1943 he married Harriet Mini Smith in New Haven Township, Michigan. He was a farmer and enjoyed going on fishing trips in Canada. He was a member of the CSA Lodge and past member of the Eagles Club of Owosso. Martin was one of the original members of the Jr. Live Stock Association in Shiawassee County and was the superintendent of the swine department. He grew up in Chesaning and spent his adult life New Haven Township.
He is survived by his wife Harriet Podolan, New Haven Township, MI, his children, Jim & Kathy Podolan of Owosso, MI, Ken Podolan of Owosso, MI, Joyce & Doug Fivecoat of Montrose, MI, Connie & Larry Matthews of Kentucky, Frances Podolan of Indiana, Mark & Irene Podolan of Owosso, MI, Patrick Podolan of Owosso, MI, 11 grandchildren, 6 Great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, son Jack, & 2 sisters & 2 brothers.
