Marvin Steve McGill

     Marvin Steve “Mac” McGill, age 69, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, at home.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 8, 2024, with Pastor Doug Strait officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will take place at Hamilton Township Cemetery, Hamilton Twp., MI, at a later date.
     Marvin was born in Alma, Michigan on July 12, 1955, the son of Claude Newton and Laverne Irene (Clark) McGill. He graduated from Alma High School. On July 11, 1987, Marvin married Kimberly Kay (Kostal) McGill at his parents' house. They were blessed with nearly thirty-seven years of marriage prior to her passing on May 31, 2024.
     Mac was a hard worker. He grew up working on the family farm. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After the military he began his career with LEAR Corp for many years, he then was a truck driver for Ryder for several years.
     Mac thoroughly enjoyed fishing, grilling, and watching movies. He liked traveling the back roads and listening to rock music. He loved his family and spending time with his grandkids. They liked playing foosball with Papa. Mac was a big kid at heart and enjoyed his toys.
     He is survived by his three sons: Ryan McGill, Dylan (Jamie) McGill, and Kyle (Becky) McGill; four grandchildren: Aroura, Addingtin, Crew, and Navy; four siblings: Paul McGill, Vic McGill, Jim (Carlene) McGill, and Charlene Brunner; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kimberly, his brother Gale McGill, infant brother Dale, and sisters-in-law: Connie McGill, and Linda McGill.
