Marvin Rooks

Marvin George Rooks age 87, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at his home.

According to Marvin's wishes, a cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

Marvin was born on April 22, 1931 in Bethany Township, Gratiot County, MI.  He graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1949.  Marvin served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War.  On September 3, 1966 Marvin married Dorothy Irene Hoyt in Alma, MI.

Marvin left behind his wife Irene, of almost 52 years, and their daughter Dorothy.  He was very fond of his beagle "Sally" and grand-beagle "Cali".  He enjoyed spending time in the garden and blessed many in the neighborhood with the produce.  Marvin was passionate about hunting and fishing with his family.  They have many special memories of the years of hunting at the ranch in Wyoming and salmon fishing on Lake Michigan.  A favorite pass-time was a good game of cards with those that were special in his life.  Marvin retired from Lobdell-Emery in 1993 after 42 years of labor.
