Mary Barnes

Mary L. Barnes, age 76, of Owosso, Michigan passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at home.

Mary's wishes were to be cremated.

A Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns, MI.

Mary was born in St. Johns, Michigan on January 22, 1938, the daughter of Dow and Verena (Keilen) Huggett. Mary married Carlton H. Barnes on September 13, 1958; he preceded her in death on May 21, 2013. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her 4 sons; Scott Barnes, Jeffrey and Nancy Barnes, Curtis and Christine Barnes, Jonathan and Shellie Barnes, 5 grandchildren, Leah and Jon Barnes, Andrew and Alex Barnes, Naomi Barnes, Elizabeth Singler and Aaron Hyland, 7 great grandchildren, brother Wallace and Sharon Huggett of Marlette, MI, brother-in-law George Beck of Palms, MI, sister-in-law Edna Huggett of Marshall, WI and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother James Huggett, sister Lois Beck and brother in law Bud Barnes.
