Mary M. Clark, age 96, of St. Louis, MI passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Louis Church of Christ on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:30 A.M., with Mr. Keith Wise officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June10, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI.
Mary was born in Alma, Michigan on March 31, 1918, the daughter of Fred and Hannah (Mowry) Terwilliger. She graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1936. Mary married Clayton Clark on December 30, 1935 in Bowling Green, OH; Clayton preceded her in death on April 7, 1999. Mary was a lifelong resident of the St. Louis area, and loved sewing and embroidery. She was the manager of the home furnishings department at Alma JC Penney's for many years. She was active in the Sweet Adelines, Girl Scouts, 4H Club, and served 25 years for the Hospital Auxiliary. Mary was also a member of St. Louis Church of Christ, St. Louis, MI for 50 years where she was active in teaching Sunday school and preparing funeral dinners.
She is survived by her daughters; Patricia Church of St. Louis, MI, Karen and Jeff Huss of St. Louis, MI, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Carl and Mary Lou Terwilliger of Edmore, MI, and Dennis Terwilliger of St. Louis, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandchild, a sister, and 6 brothers.
