Mary Elizabeth Gabrion, age 87, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Rosewood Adult Foster Care, Ithaca, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Ithaca, MI, on Monday, October 12, 2020, at 10:30 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Edwin Dwyer officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.
Mary was born in Ithaca, MI on January 25, 1933, the daughter of Charles J. and Elizabeth May (Hays) Donahoe. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1950. On August 22, 1950 she married Larry Gabrion in Ithaca, MI; Larry passed away October 3, 2000.
After they were married, she moved to San Angelo, TX with Larry who was in the Air Force; she worked in the photo lab on the base. When they returned to Michigan she worked for Redmond's in Ithaca. In 1960 she went to work for Gratiot County Welfare Department; when they merged with the State of Michigan she was the office manager until her retirement in 1994. Mary was an avid Bridge player. Her family was very important to her; all of her children have scrap books that she compiled for them over the years. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son Patrick and Victoria Gabrion, daughter Becky Manderfield, son Michael and Dianne Gabrion, and son-in-law Tim Hull; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, sister Marty and Gary McDaid, and brother Bill and Elaine Donahoe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Annie Hull, grandson Gavin, and 1 son-in-law: Ed Manderfield.
