Mary Houska

Mary A. Houska, age 91 of St. Johns, Michigan passed away Thursday, December 4, 2003 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor in St. Johns. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 7, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Her family members will officiate with burial at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be Saturday from 2-4 P.M.
Mary was born on February 18, 1912 in Owosso, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Krivak) Pomikal. She graduated from Owosso High School. She was married to the late James Houska on October 1, 1932 in Owosso, Michigan. She was a member of ZCBJ Lodge #225 in Bannister, Michigan. She resided most of her life in the Elsie & Bannister area.
She is survived by 2 sons, Robert & Rachel Houska of Elsie, MI, and Ronald Houska of Sebastian, FL, 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, 2 sister in laws, Libbie Houska of St. Johns, MI, Lillian Pomikal of Flint, MI also survived by many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Jim, 1 son Richard, 2 brothers, Charles & Rudy, and 1 sister, Frances.
Memorials may be made to Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
