Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mary J. Klein passed away December 8, 2012 at the age of 90. She was born in Fowler, Michigan on March 16, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Thelen) Koenigsknecht. Mary was a faithful member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, and an active member of the Christian Mothers and the Daughters of Isabella. She will be remembered for her cooking, baking, quilting, gardening and her generous heart. She married John J. Klein on May 31, 1949 in Fowler and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2006.
Mary is survived by her children, Rose (Neil) Hafner of Fowler, Fr. John Klein of Lansing, William (Ruth) Klein of Pewamo, Monica (Edward) Martin of Fowler, Mary Klein of Okemos, Thomas (Debra) Klein of Pewamo and Lucy (Bruce) Nurenberg of Portland; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with 1 on his way. She is also survived by her brother, George (Joan) Koenigsknecht and in laws, Peter (Margaret) Klein, Monica (Martin) Pung, Therese Thelen, Doris Klein, Caroline Klein and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James "Jake" Klein, sisters, Julianna (Melvin) Simon and Margaret (Mark) Schrauben and brothers, Msgr. Albert Koenigsknecht and Paul (Patricia) Koenigsknecht.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler with Fr. John Klein presiding. Burial will follow at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday 1 - 9 P.M. with a Rosary at 3 P.M. and a Vigil for the Deceased at 8 P.M. at the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes in Fowler. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of memorial contributions to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
