Mary Ann Kvalevog, age 70, of Elsie, MI passed away peacefully with her children at her side on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held at Elsie United Methodist Church Elsie, MI on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel, Elsie, MI.
Mary was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 14, 1940, the daughter of Chester and Ellen (Drake) Feathers. Mary graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School Adult Education in 1978. On March 3, 1958 she married Henry T. Kvalevog in Berkley, Michigan, Henry died on March 14, 1987. Mary was a homemaker, farmer and worked for the school lunch program, home healthcare, and Clinton Memorial Hospital. She had lived in Caro, Michigan, and then in 1959 she moved to Marlette, Michigan until 1970 when she moved to Elsie. Mary was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Owosso, MI
She is survived by 4 daughters; Lori Joanne and Barry Hardwick of Rapid River, MI, Meri Jean and Mark McGinnis of Elsie, MI, Joye Lynn and Bill Tower of Lansing, MI, Kara Mae and James Vines of Flint, MI, 6 sons; Theodore Wade and Debby Kvalevog of Ovid, MI, Larry Joseph and Karen Kvalevog of Lansing, MI, Steven Henry and Fiorela Kvalevog of Arlington, VA, Douglas James and Jessica Kvalevog of St. Johns, MI, Robert Gene and Sharon Kvalevog of Hubert, NC, Thomas Henry Kvalevog of Southgate, MI, 24 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Edna Slocum of Kalamazoo, MI, Dorothy and John Haithcoat of Mesa, AZ, Theresa Feathers of Florida, and 3 brothers; Jack Feathers of Florida, Danny Feathers of Florida, Duane Feathers of Florida. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, 3 children; Christina Marie, Arthur John, Tina Marie, daughter in law, Marlene, granddaughter Sage Nicole, 3 brothers; John, Chester and Brian Feathers, 1 sister Margaret Arnold.
