Mary LaRose

Mary Ellen LaRose age 75, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Mid Michigan Medical Center, Midland, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 12:00 P.M., with Pastor Justin Daron officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.

Mary was born in Portland, Michigan on April 7, 1941, the daughter of Herman Anthony and Matilda Ann (Kowatch) Huhn.  Mary graduated from St. Patrick's High School, Portland, MI. She went on to attend Montcalm Community College where she received her associates degree in nursing. Mary married Robert James LaRose on July 30, 1960; Bob passed away on September 16, 1993.

Mary and Bob owned and operated the Meteor Bar in St. Louis and LaRose's Pizzaria in St. Louis and Edmore.  She worked as an LPN at Schnepp Healthcare Center, St. Louis, MI for most of her career.  Mary enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her friends and spending time with her beloved dogs; Chico and Bandit.

She is survived by her children; Doug and Jen LaRose of Midland, MI, Debbie Isanhart of Alma, MI,  Laurie and Bill Miller of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Jeff and Kelly LaRose of Wheeler, MI, Brian and Sonya LaRose of Alma, MI, grandchildren; Jeremy LaRose, Tyler Isanhart, Hayleigh Miller, Kristyn Miller, Ashlee and Jay MacLaren, Zack and Alexa LaRose, 4 great grandchildren, and her siblings; Bob Huhn, Marleah and Jim Quimby, Jim and Penny Huhn, Steve and Linda Huhn, Sharon Goodman, and Ken and Vicki Huhn.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, and siblings; Ron, Jon, and Duane.
