Mary Louise Lindsay, age 91, of Alma, MI, received a wonderful Christmas present by joining her Savior on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Woodland Hospice House, Mt. Pleasant, MI.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at the St. Louis Church of Christ, St. Louis, MI at a date to be announced.
Mary was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 21, 1930, the daughter of Ralph S. and Göta L. (Stark) Chase. Mary married David Oldfield "Dave" Lindsay on June 12, 1954, in Detroit, MI. Dave passed away on March 22, 2018.
Mary was a LPN and worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia for many years and then worked at St. Vincent Sara Fisher Home for Unwed Mothers in Farmington, MI. Mary and Dave lived many places throughout their life including Plymouth, Rose Lake, Virginia Beach, and Alma. She loved time spent in Newberry and Grand Marias with her family.
Mary and Dave enjoyed volunteering as greeters at Gratiot Hospital in Alma. She also volunteered with the Church of Christ Food Pantry. Mary was very bright, loved language and regularly defeated her grandchildren at Jeopardy and Skip Bo. She was a member of the St. Louis Church of Christ and previously a member of the First Congregational Church in Detroit. She served her country in the United States Navy.
She is survived by her children: William and Michelle Lindsay of IL, Peter and Marilyn Lindsay of MI, Bonnie Lindsay of WA, and Sue and Matthew Stack of MI; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dave, infant son Robert Andrew, and brother Robert Chase.
