Mary Margaret (Kutney-Fatura) Newell of Owosso, MI peacefully closed her eyes, and left to enter the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the age 90.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate with burial at Ford Cemetery Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007, 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, October 26, 2007 at 6:00 p.m.
Mary was born in Cudahy, Wisconson on July 15, 1917 the daughter of John and Johana (Misek) Kutni. She resided most of her life in the Bannister area, before moving to Owosso, in 1968. Mary married Tony Fatura in 1937 and then married Edwin Newell in 1967. Mary worked on the farm, with her family near Bannister. After moving to Owosso, she worked for Redmonds, was the manager of Dilly's Donut Shop, and also worked at Genesee Stamping before retiring.
She was a fantastic cook, and her family will always remember the wonderful dinners she prepared from her heritage. Mary truly loved her children, her daughter-in-law, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren, and leaves them with many wonderful memories of her. She will be missed by her family, friends, and all that knew her. She was also a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church.
She is survived by 2 sons; Anthony Fatura of Owosso, MI, Fred and Renae Fatura of Elsie, MI,
daughter Rosemary Cole of Elsie, MI, grandchildren; Jamie and Greg Tomasek, Bobby and Donnele Shepherd, Michael Fatura, Janelle Fatura, Cindy and Dean Sutzer, Derek & Ericka Fatura, Kelsie Cole, 13 great grandchildren, sister and best friend Ann Underwood of Oakley, MI, several nieces & nephews, and half sister Antonia Spencer of Texas. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Margaret Lenon, her brothers; John Kutney, Steve Kutney, and Frank Kutney, husband Edwin Newll, and her precious first grandson Brian Fatura.
