Mary (Mailand) Pencak age 96 of St. Louis, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2017.

A Private Memorial will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Sumner Cemetery, Sumner, MI.

Mary was born in 1921 in Minnesota the daughter of Leendert and Cornelia (Van Beelen) Mailand and moved at a young age to Carson City.  Mary attended Carson City High School and was a member of the Women's Basketball team.  Mary met and married the love of her life, Leo Pencak in 1939 and the two enjoyed over 58 years of marriage. Mary resided most of her life in Gratiot County.  She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church Remus, MI.

Mary and Leo moved to Sumner Michigan and raised their family.  Mary worked at General Telephone in Alma in dispatch before retiring.  Mary and Leo spent many wonderful years at Canadian Lakes.  Mary was talented in crocheting and knitting.  She enjoyed gardening, ice skating and water skiing.

Mary was very loving, devoted and supportive to her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mary's greatest accomplishment was her children.  Mary is survived by her daughter Linda Peterson of Alma, MI; daughter Sheryl and Dave Coffman of Cary, NC; daughter Sharon and Jim McBride of Greenville, MI; grandchildren Dean "Andy" Peterson, Lee Pencak, Matt Pencak, Anastasia (Jamie) Dunlap, Jay (Venessa) McBride, Drew McBride, Kevin Coffman, Mitchell (Krista) Coffman, and Stephen Coffman and her great-grandchildren Jaylene and Brenden Pencak, and Tucker McBride; daughter-in-law Ruth Pencak of Las Vegas, NV; sister Elaine "Joy" Flegel of Alma, MI; sister-in-law  Beverly Mailand of St. Johns, MI; sister-in-law Inabeth Bratfish of St. Louis, MI. Mary was youthful in spirit and will be deeply missed.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo Pencak, her sons Andrew (Sonny) "Sunny" Pencak and Larry Pencak, her granddaughter Lindsay McBride also her siblings Kathryn, Fred, Cornelia, Ruby, John, and Leonard.
