Mary Rimmel

Mary Kathryn Rimmel, age 67, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Sparrow Carson Hospital, Carson City, MI.

A Graveside Service will be held at Ithaca Cemetery on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 2:00 P.M.

Mary was born in Alma, MI on November 16, 1952, the daughter of J. L. "Bud" and Nilene (Crites) Kernen.  She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1970.  Mary married Rick Rimmel on May 1, 1976, at Ithaca Presbyterian Church.

Mary enjoyed people watching and she never met a stranger she couldn't strike up a conversation with.  She liked working in her yard, gardening, cooking and baking.  Her cats were very special to her.  Mary looked forward to lunches and time spent with her close friends, most of all her best friend and daughter Megan.  She was a member of the Ithaca Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband Rick Rimmel, daughter Megan and Derek Hessbrook, son Adam Rimmel, brother Charles Kernen, father and mother-in-law Rex and Dolores Rimmel, sisters and brothers-in-law: Susan and Chris Sparks, Sally and Larry Bond, and Shelley and Larry Faucette. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
