Mary Rogers

Mary Rogers, age 88, of St. Louis, MI died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church, St. Louis, MI on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Phil Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI.

Mary was born in Coe Township, MI on April 4, 1925, the daughter of August and Josephine (Dobroski) Michalovic. Mary married Carl Rogers on October 19, 1942; he died April 17, 1999 after 56 years of marriage. Mary retired from Gratiot Community Hospital in 1995 after 20 years of service in the laundry department. She enjoyed gardening, especially her roses. Mary liked sewing and crocheting. She was a member of First Baptist Church, St. Louis, MI.

Mary is survived by her daughter Judy and Bud Vliet of Alma, MI, 2 sons; Jerry and Linda Rogers of Alma, MI, and Don and Jana Rogers of St. Louis, MI, 8 grandchildren; Vince and Rachelle Vliet of Alma, MI, Nancy and Craig Miller of Alma, MI, Rick and Leann Rogers of St. Louis, MI, Jeremy and Stephanie Rogers of Alma, MI, Alan and Amy Rogers of Allen, TX, Kimberly and Larrin Flint of Grand Haven, MI, Craig Rogers of Redwood City, CA and Cale Rogers of Ann Arbor, MI, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great great granchildren and her sister Rosie and Tony Chapko of Elsie, MI. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Bill Rogers, 4 brothers; Steve, Frank, Joe and Mike Michalovic, and sister Josephine Sklener.
