Mary Lou Toth, 78, of Ashley, MI, passed away Monday, March 23, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.
Due to the current events a Private Graveside Service will be held at Mary Knoll Catholic Cemetery, Carson City MI, with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating.
Mary was born in Holt, MI on January 10, 1942, the daughter of Walter P. and Grace Laura (Parker) Jackway. She graduated from Dansville High School with the class of 1960. On July 9, 1960 she married Peter F. Penner; Peter passed away on November 3, 1978. On November 9, 1979 she married Andy D. Toth at Pompeii United Methodist Church; Andy passed away on February 18, 2019.
Mary had worked for the former Wolverine Shoe Factory in Ithaca, MI. She managed and enjoyed working at the Pompeii Baby Pantry. Her family and especially her grandchildren were very important to her. She also crocheted hats for cancer patients for many years. She was a member of the Pompeii United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children: Gretchen and Guy Burnham of Pompeii, MI; Sheila and Scott DeKryger of Grand Rapids, MI; Dennis Penner of Elkhart, IN; Sidney and Dan White of Stanton, MI; Daniel and Sandy Penner of Sheridan, MI; Andrea and Isaias Covarrubias of Mt. Pleasant, MI; stepchildren: Terry and Madeline Palmer, Sue and Marty Riker, Janelle Toth. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, husbands: Peter and Andy, 4 sisters, and 5 brothers.
