Mary Weeden

Mary Eunice Weeden age 85 of Merrill, MI, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Edgewood Assisted Living, Saginaw, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Jerry Larkin officiating.  Burial will take place at Ridge Road Cemetery, Brady Township, MI.  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mary was born in Gratiot County, MI on February 26, 1932 the daughter of Orvall and Aleta (Detwiler) Smith.  She graduated from Hemlock High School.  Mary married Earl Weeden on June 8, 1951 at Shields Free Methodist Church; Earl passed away on August 12, 2009.

Mary was a lifetime member of the Racy Free Methodist Church, Elsie, MI; where she taught Sunday school, Wednesday night service, and was the secretary for many years. She enjoyed making crafts out of plastic canvas for friends and family; including bible covers, Cross's, kleenex holders, dolls and many other things. She also liked to read.  She loved the time spent with her family, especially family dinners.

She is survived by her sons: Joseph Weeden of Hemlock, MI, Pastor Thomas and Joyce Weeden of Wayland, MI, Samuel and Renee Weeden of Merrill, MI, Paul and Veronica Weeden of Flint, MI, and sister Amy Brandt of Saginaw, MI. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter in law Donna Weeden and sister Ruth Willoughby.
