Mary Catherine Yerrick, age 90, of Traverse City, MI formerly of Owosso passed away Monday, June 15, 2009 at Orchard Creek Supportive Care, Traverse City, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Carol J. Johns will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery Ovid, MI. Visitation will be held Thursday June 18, 2009 from 6-8 PM and Friday June 19, 2009 from 9-11 AM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso.
Mary Catherine was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 17, 1919, the daughter of Brant C. and Daisy (Shirts) Haviland. Catherine married Kenneth E. Yerrick on October 28, 1936 in Bowling Green, Ohio. He passed away on December 15, 1993. Catherine resided most of her life in Owosso and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Owosso. Catherine enjoyed sewing, gardening and almost any other outdoor activity. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a dedicated caregiver for family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth B. and Carole A. Yerrick of Traverse City, MI, 10 grandchildren; Lori and William Gagliardi of Midland, MI, Carrie and Tom Frietches of Arvada, CO, Nancy and Rob Spurlock of Venice, FL, Dr. Randy and Metra Yerrick of Clarence, NY, Lisa Randall of Midland, MI, Steven and Cory Snyder of Brighton, MI, Shannon Snyder of Owosso, MI, Kenneth D. Yerrick of Vestaburg, MI, Kurt E. and Misty Yerrick of Owosso, MI, Cathi Marie Yerrick of Owosso, MI, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Rand (Connie) Yerrick and brother Leonard Haviland.
