Matilda Egres age 86 of Ashley, Michigan died Monday January 8, 2007 at Ashley Care Center Ashley, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel St. Johns, MI on Friday, January 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Mr. Thomas Bradley will officiate with burial at North Star Cemetery North Star, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 from 6-8 P.M.and Wednesday, January 10, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Matilda was born in Ashley, Michigan on March 1, 1920 the daughter of Michael and Catherine ( Evonck ) Minarik. She resided most of her life in the Ashley area. Matilda married Albert Egres in Ithaca, Michigan on June 1, 1937, Albert died October 14, 1998. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, making goose down pillows, and crocheting and she and her husband Albert enjoyed dancing.

She is survived by 2 sons; Albert & Carol Egres Jr. of St. Johns, Michigan, Ronald & Diann Egress of Loudon, Tennessee, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, 4 sisters & 2 brothers.

Memorials may be made to Ashley Care Center, Ashley, Michigan. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns, Michigan.
